I’m not sure if it’s just me, or if the recipe has been around for a long time, but this might not be the best recipe for Christmas wine. It’s fairly simple to make, so I’m not exactly sure why it doesn’t work for everyone.
Christmas wine is a difficult thing to get right, however I can tell you that when it does work, it only comes in two stages, a light and a dark. The light is the stuff that can be easily stored and enjoyed in a cooler for 4-5 weeks. The dark is the stuff that needs to be drunk within one to two days. Its a perfect recipe for Christmas wine because it is both.
